Moon

Moon is your mind, emotions, mother & and what kind of nourishment you need. The moon is the most important planet in Vedic Astrology. It is through the mind that we experience this physical experience. Where the moon is placed will be significant when interpreting your natal chart. Moon is considered a neutral planet and is generally friends with the other Grahas. Like a sponge, Moon will take on the qualities of the house and sign it sits in. Any planetary aspects or conjunctions will heavily influence Moon.

The Lagna: Rising sign

Your Lagna, also known as the Ascendant or Rising sign, is the sign that was rising on the Eastern horizon at the time of your birth. It rules your first house, and the other signs follow in order for the remaining houses. Each sign has a planetary ruler known as the Lagna Lord in your natal chart. This planet is very important as its placement in the natal chart and the houses it rules will heavily influence your life.

Your Lagna, or your ascendant, represents your physical appearance and overall personality that influences how people perceive you in this life.

Rashis: The 12 Zodiac Signs

In Vedic astrology, Rashi refers to the 12 zodiac signs, and each sign represents a specific portion of the sky with its unique qualities and characteristics. When a sign occupies a house in a person's birth chart, the planet ruling that sign becomes the house ruler for that chart.

This connection between the signs and the houses helps astrologers interpret how the positions of planets at the time of one's birth influence different aspects of life. Understanding Rashi in Vedic astrology can give you insight into how celestial bodies shape your personality, relationships, career, and destiny.

Exploring the traits associated with each Rashi and its corresponding house ruler can offer valuable self-awareness and understanding of the cosmic forces at play in your life. It's fascinating to learn how the positioning of stars and planets can impact who we are and what we experience.  I encourage you to be your own astrologer, learn your chart, and learn to work with the energies and not blindly against them.

There are 12 zodiac signs in astrology.

The orbit of the Earth is 360 degrees... a circle.

Each zodiac makes up 30 degrees of that orbit in the sky.

12 * 30 = 360

As the Earth rotates,  so does our view of the cosmos.

When you were born, each planet was in the sky in a zodiac sign. Your natal chart will show this.

It takes one year to complete the sign cycle and then repeats.

The order of signs is as follows and never changes:

Aries

Taurus

Gemini

Cancer

Leo

Virgo

Libra

Scorpio

Sagittarius

Capricorn

Aquarius
